The Choir Department is holding a Fire Wood Raffle. Raffle tickets are on sale for $5 and can be purchased by any parparticipating choir member. All the proceeds will help our choir members in Festival Choir go to the Heritage Festival compation in March! Please help support our goals!

Choir News

The AHS Choral Department's 2012 Sping Concert will be presented on Friday, March 9th at 7:00 pm at the Atascadero Bible Church. (Tickets for the ABC concert will be avilable at the door.) The choirs will be singing pieces that will also be performed in competition at the Heritage Festival in Anaheim on March 16th and the Central Coast Choral Festival at the PAC at Cal Poly on March 23rd.

Show Choir!

Prior completion of a high school choral program for one full year, to join Show Choir a required aduition must be made at the end of the year. Show Choir mixxes the talents of singing, dancing and acting to always enlighten anyone watching. Show Choir is a competing choir and takes trips throughout the year to do so.

 

Concert Choir!

Concert Choir is a course for all students inrolled in choir. This is a choir mix of Woman's, Advanced Woman's, Men's, and Show Choir. This is a choir that student will learn the material during the choir class they are inrolled in. Concert Choir rehearsals are healed after school to allow student to practice together and to learn the choreography. Concert choir gives Choir student a chance to learn from other gifted students and too get to know one another

 

Festival Choir

Festival Choir is a new choir currently beign developed by Mrs. Bruzzo. Festival Choir will be a competing choir that will attend mid second semester. Those who wish to join Festival Choir must audition and learn the material on there own time. More infomation will be posted soon!

Women's Choir!

Woman's Choir is a one year course for the beginning female singer. No previous experience in singing, performing, or basic music skills is required. The curriculum will include basic voice training, basic music skills (theory and musicianship), and preparation to preform individually, in small groups and as a large group. A wide variety of musical styles written especially for women's voices will be studied and preformed.

Advanced Woman's Choir!

Avanced Women's Choir is a one year course for the advanced female singer. Previous experiences in singing, performing, and knowledge of basic music skills is required. The curriculum will include the study and performance of a wide variety of musical styles written especially for women's voices.

Men's Choir!

Man's Choir is a one year course for the beginning male singer. No previous experience in singing, performing, or basic music skills is required. The curriculum will include basic voice training, basic music skills (theory and musicianship), and preparation to preform individually, in small groups and as a large group. A wide variety of musical styles written especially for young men's voices will be studied and preformed.

Musical Production!

Would you like to be in a Musical but you don’t have time in your schedule for after school rehearsals? This is the class for you! Musical Productions is a course designed to introduce the student to musical theater as a performing art. The student will experience aesthetic perception, creative expression and knowledge of the cultural/historical importance of music and drama. The student will explore vocal techniques required for performing musicals, stage movement, choreography, set design and cooperative acting techniques. All rehearsals will be held during the class period. This course will culminate in a performance during school hours at the end of the semester.
