Bike

Bike Club members with medals.
Club's purpose: to encourage biking for fun, fitness, racing and commuting campus-wide. We sponsor the Bike to Breakfast 2 times a year, bike trivia contest during Bike Month (May), and meet weekly at lunch on Wednesdays to talk about (mostly mountain) biking, gear, and rides. We also have occasional competitions for prizes.

California Scholarship Federation

The purpose of the California Scholarship Federation is to foster high standards of scholarship,service, and citizenship on the part of students of the high schools in California. The motto shall be "Scholarship for Service". Membership applications are due each semester during the enrollment period which will start within during the first 30 days of the semester and be based on the previous semester grades.

Drama club students.
The Drama club is open to all AHS students whether they are currently involved in drama class or productions or not! Drama club is a fun way to get involved with the theater arts and meet new people- no matter your skill level! Whether you are interested in performance, technical and backstage or are just curious to check out AHS Drama- the Drama Club is a great place to start. Drama Club meets every Tuesday at lunch to play theater games and plan fun activities like end of semester flashmob dances, performances, improv and tons of other fun stuff!

Feminist Club

Femenist club members
Our purpose it to promote the notion that feminism is raising females up to the equivalent status of males and all genders- gender equality. Also, we aim to dis-spell double standards and inequality based on gender. We encourage feminist self-actualization, educate and create awareness about various feminist theories, and create a visible on-campus presence. We shall strive to build alliances with individuals, clubs, and off-campus organizations. We dedicate ourselves to promoting social justice.

The AHS Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) functions as safe place for students to meet, support each other, and talk about issues related to sexual orientation. GSA provides support and confidentiality to students who are struggling with their identity as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or questioning. Above all, we encourage acceptance, tolerance, and a sense of community where all are welcome.

Interact is a student-run community service club sponsored by Rotary International. Every year, we focus on a different local charity, volunteering with them and fundraising for their program. Past organizations have included Habitat for Humanity, The North County Humane Society, Loaves and Fishes, The Danish Care Center, The Friends of the Library, and El Camino Homeless Organization. At the end of every school year, we've presented these groups with hefty checks!

Lit advisory club members
LIT Club (Librarians in Training) promote the library and books by making displays and planning programs. We also talk about books we're reading and organize field trips such as the annual Book Buy where we select and purchase books for the library.

National Honor Society (NHS)

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Membership in NHS is open to second semester sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have a cumulative GPA of a 3.8 and submit an application for consideration. Applications are evaluated based on the core values of NHS- scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Once admitted into NHS students must attend ALL meetings, complete 32 hours of community service over the summer (June, July, & August), 8 hours a month, complete 2 group community service projects (1 per semester), pay club dues one time a year, and maintain their GPA.
