Student Center Services
1. CAREER AND EDUCATION PLANNING
As part of the Social Science curriculum, an Atascadero High
School student is required to spend over 4 hours Freshman, Sophmore,
and Junior year in the Student Center planning for his/her future.
A student creates an electronic portfolio containing ongoing
research into his/her individual career choices. Each year a
student focuses on a different aspect of his/her chosen career.
9th graders Preliminary career/occupation/job research
10th graders Follow-up career/occupation/job research
11th graders Post high school education research
New computers have been installed in the Student Center
that allows a student to use Internet and other software programs
to research and present his/her findings.
2. Post High School Education Information
The Student Center houses many post high school education resources.
In addition to thousands of on-line resources, the center contains
hundreds of printed material resources including college/university
catalogs, information on technical/vocational schools, and military
opportunities. Videotapes are also available. All resources are
available for a 3-day checkout.
Note: A student can schedule a private appointment
with his or her counselor to search for schools and scholarships.
