Welcome Contiuned

Your success matters to your teachers and our staff. Your teachers are committed to challenging you academically, and all of us are here to support your efforts to achieve your potential. You can expect times of significant struggle, but I ask you to lean into the struggle knowing we are on your side. As a parent or guardian, your role in supporting your child's endeavors can't be overstated. Sometimes students have the fixed mindset that they are a failure if the work isn't easy. Failure may be part of the journey, but it is not the destination. The thrill of achievement is especially sweet when one overcomes difficulty along the way. This is your opportunity to guide them as they navigate the failures and successes they will undoubtedly experience. Please remember that your student's teachers, counselors and the staff here at AHS are available to you, and I hope you feel comfortable reaching out to us. This is a thrilling time, and we are all part of the team whose goal is to support the growth and development of your student. As we begin this 2017/2018 school year, I hope you bring your enthusiasm, your curiosity and your energy to all you do. You have complete control to choose your attitude and effort. I am delighted to be your principal, and I promise you will get the best I can offer every day. Go Hounds!

William Neely, Principal
